This was a fun assignment to work on. I like Celtic art, especially all the myriad forms of knotwork. Kate's portrait is based on the image of a woman, possibly the Virgin Mary, found in the Book of Kells. The knotwork corbels on either side of the window she is looking out of are my own design based on Celtic models. I put them there as an allusion to Kate's princely suitors, toward whom she holds great dislike.
