 Oseburg Lion

Oseburg Lion
APA:1066 #4 (August, 1991)

Media: Scratchboard

This 8th century carved wooden lion head is one of five beautifully made animal head carvings recovered from the Oseburg ship burial, found near Oslo, Norway in the early years of the 20th century. APA:1066 was an amateur publication association collated by my husband and I between 1990 and 1992 to encourage the sharing of research between people interested in early medieval historical re-enactment.
